Lumi, the car rental business of Seera Group, is expanding its retail service network in Saudi Arabia, having won the bid to open counters at Jeddah King Abdulaziz International Airport, Ta’if Regional Airport and Al-Baha Domestic Airport in Saudi Arabia. These join the current network of 8 airport counters and the total network of 26 branches in the region.

Accelerating the development of some sophisticated technology solutions, Lumi is swiftly becoming one of the top car rental brands offering digital-driven services in the Kingdom. This progression is also part of Seera’s omnichannel strategy to create a seamless experience across different channels for the customers. Lumi is also carrying out major refurbishments at  their branches by starting with the Al Olaya branch that is located in the financial district of Riyadh. The branch has been redesigned, with a new fresh look, a new layout, featuring the latest technology offerings, enabling customers to have a hassle-free, quick, and easy booking experience.

Lumi has strengthened its services by creating time saving processes including the digitisation of the entire operations at the airport counters. The Tamm service has also been integrated to speed up the government registration for customers who are looking to rent a vehicle. Lumi’s digital-first branches will also feature ID scanners and agents onsite for consultation.

At Lumi’s airport counters, residents and visitors passing through the airports will be able to enjoy quick and easy access to Lumi’s extensive range of enhanced fleet with digital-driven customer services. Lumi has the youngest rental fleet in the Kingdom, with over 80 per cent of cars under 12 months old. The company had purchased over 4,000 cars in 2020 with a majority of fleet additions coming from Toyota and Hyundai.

Further, as part of Group’s larger initiative, ‘Seera Safe’, Lumi has launched various safety initiatives, reassuring customers of the highest standards of health and safety followed. Enhanced cleaning procedures include a thorough sanitisation of all vehicles before rental with utmost attention paid to high touch point areas. Temperature checks of staff and visitors have been activated at all the airport counters. Social distancing measures are practised, and digital processes and payments reduce physical contact.

Azfar Shakeel, Vice President of Lumi, said: "Winning the bid to open airport counters at three major airports in the Kingdom is an important step in the expansion of our network, and reinforces us as the preferred car rental partner. The airport counters will serve international visitors as well as domestic customers seeking convenience, value, and service. Our goal is to sustain our market leadership through innovative services that meet the requirements of our growing base of government clients, corporates, families and individuals."

With changing customer preferences and the business need to offer seamless services, Lumi is also working on enhanced tech-driven offerings for online bookings, to revolutionise the car rental experience.
